WSNs (Wireless Sensor Network) are networks that consist of numerous self-configuring and self-powered sensor nodes that are collectively used for sensing environmental data, data aggregation, and actuation functions in an accurate, reliable and efficient manner. Beacon-less routing helps conserve the energy of the sensor nodes by avoiding the beaconing process. In Beacon-less routing, packets are forwarded without the process of beaconing and also without the information of the neighboring nodes. PBR, also known as the position based beacon-less routing, is an algorithm that helps in minimizing the re-transmission of the data packets that generally occur in the beaconing process, which consumes more energy. In this paper, an algorithm similar to that of next forwarder selection used in position based beacon-less routing is proposed that will help find an optimal path for routing packets from source to destination.

The existence of smart home systems in the current generation has become very much crucial. In the recent years smart homes have been developing as a residence that uses any controlling mechanism is usually more secured. This paper describes the overall design of home security system which can even be adapted by the people with lower income. The main target of this system is control of door movement, that is locking and unlocking of the door through smart devices such as smart phone or a small hand held device which facilitates remote access from smart devices. The design of home automation and security system along with the further improvements are discussed in this paper. During hazardous conditions this android based home security system is very useful for old aged people. The entryway bolt framework includes an android advanced cell as the disciplinarian, Bluetooth module as the charge specialist, Arduino Micro controller as controller focus and an electric entryway bolt or engine.

Swarm intelligence is becoming a rising territory into an area of optimization and specialists have created different methodology by displaying the practices of various swarms i.e. insects, honey bees, etc. Swarm intelligence is the group of systems, in which they assemble who is taking active role for a communication among agents through the surroundings. Ant Colony Optimization (ACO) is a swarm based algorithm that is inspired from the real Ant colonies. Bee Colony Optimization (BCO) relies on upon the savvy rummaging conduct of bumble bees. In this survey paper, we accentuation on two broadly utilized swarm techniques: ACO and BCO alongside its prominent variations. We conclude this paper with calculated examination of these two methods.
